Clinical Psychology Professor Leah Lapidus, was keynote speaker at the annual meeting of Hale 'Opio Kaua'I, Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps troubled youngsters and their families. Professor Lapidus spoke on why some young people overcome the same types of obstacles that frustrate other children. She praised Hale 'Opio's programs that help whole families and encouraged them to develop objective ways to measure successful outcomes as a means of research and documentation.
Lapidus also held a special workshop for professionals entitled Sexual abuse: resiliency and short-term treatment.
