President Clinton’s Case for State Education Reform
On February 23, the L.A. Times printed an article that discussed President Bill Clinton’s recent speech to the U.S. governors on improvements in the public education system. Frank Smith, Associate Professor of Education in the Department of Organization and Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University, was quoted in the article and said that while a new federal plan may up the pressure for schools to improve, it will probably do so without saying how to improve them
