Attracting children to museums can be pretty tricky, especially luring them into a lifelong interest in museumgoing.

Attracting children to museums can be pretty tricky, especially luring them into a lifelong interest in museumgoing. But there is a growing movement among art-museums to create hands-on, open-ended exhibits that will grow and nurture a new generation of museum attendees.

"These are really important changes," said TC President Arthur Levine, "Traditionally museums have been cold, distant, unapproachable places: kids felt uninvited. By making kids comfortable in museums, this is the way to build the audiences of the future."
