The Great Neck Arts Center presents the next of its Salon Series. Among the artists performing will be the group Spirit. Their program titled, "Jazz and the Classics: A Marriage Made in Heaven," will combine pieces by both classical and jazz composers in a celebration of the variety of moods and tones achieved by both musical genres. The group's vision is to inspire musicians to challenge their own expressiveness in all styles. This vision finds its source in the work of Leonard Bernstein who achieved an artistic balance among various musical styles.

"Truly, jazz and classical music were made for each other," states Bert Konowitz, Adjunct Faculty of Music Education and founder and artistic director of Spirit.
