TC's Department of International and Transcultural Studies and Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) co-sponsored a one-day workshop for educators on "The World of Islam After the WTC." SIPA Dean, Lisa Anderson, (pictured here, center) an expert on North Africa, opened the workshop by saying, "September 11th changed America's sense of complacency since the close of the Cold War and illustrated the dark-side of globalization."
