schools, more parents than ever before are hiring tutors for their
preschool age children in an effort to give them an academic
advantage.

"Nonremedial tutoring for children entering school is a relatively
new phenomenon," said Dr. Arthur Levine, president of Teachers
College at Columbia University, "but like every type of tutoring, it
is growing. Anything parents can do to give their children an edge,
they are interested in."
