Faculty Web Sites
The Office of the Web in External Affairs is proud to announce a new Web based tool for faculty to build an online presence at TC.
Faculty Web Profiles can be viewed at www.tc.edu/faculty, from the Dean's office at www.tc.edu/dean, or from the Faculty members' respective department or program. From any of these pages, users can click on the faculty member's name and bring up the information that appears in the Academic Catalog or has been entered by the faculty themselves.
The Web profiles are a place for faculty members to share with the public information about themselves, their research and their involvement with the school, city and beyond.
"We're really happy to offer this online profile and easy to use tool," said Paul Acquaro, TC's Web Editor. "We hope that this offers faculty a conduit to sharing their work with the greater TC community and beyond. They are not personal web sites, but rather public profiles."
"When the profiles are tied in with the news and research stories that External Affairs writes about-the programs, departments and centers that the faculty are involved with-a bigger picture is revealed about the type of work that is happening in the college," added Acquaro.
Faculty and/or their representatives, can easily update their profiles through a Web-based tool. The Web Office will be holding training days and workshops to show interested users how to update their profiles. Please check the TC Web Resources Web page (www.tc.columbia.edu/referenceguide) for scheduled meeting times. Questions regarding the Faculty Online Profile Manager can be e-mailed to the Web office at ws_web@tc.columbia.edu.
