Education Across the Americas united faculty, students, researchers and NGOs to discuss education in Latin America as well as the education of Latinos/as in the United States. Some of the highlights included guest speakers on community work and organizations, and innovative school reform initiatives; a round-table discussion of representatives from NGOs working in the New York area with immigrants from Latin America or within Latin America; and faculty panels on equity, human rights, and the future for educational policy in Latin America. There was a reception featuring Latin food, drink, music, and socializing and a film, "Escuela." This conference was possible thanks to the financial support from the TC President's Community and Diversity Grant Fund.
