James Haywood Rolling, Jr. (Curriculum and Teaching) is proud member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir which yet another Grammy Award this year in the category of Best Gospel Choir or Chorus Album for the album "Be Glad!" They have won in this category three out of the four years they were nominated. The last two wins were for the albums, "High and Lifted Up" in 2000 and "God is Working" in 2001. The choir has won five Grammy Awards in total.

Maury Epstein (Arts and Humanities), who is a master's student and guitarist, performed at the Millenium Stage Concerts and in Wilmington, Delaware, as part of the Kennedy Center Jazz Residency for Young People. He represented TC and Columbia University there. The Kennedy Jazz Center presented "Jazz Stars of Tomorrow," two free performances by the 2003 graduates of Better Carter's Jazz Ahead, the Kennedy Center's national jazz residency program for young emerging artists, which includes a week of intense training in performance, composing and arranging, led by trumpeter Jimmy Owens, bassist John Clayton, saxophonist and Residency Director Nathan Davis, trombonist Curtis Fuller, drummer Winard Harper, and vocalist Carmen Lundy.
