Jessica Siegel, the teacher and journalist who was the focus of the 1990 book Small Victories by current New York Times columnist Samuel G. Freedman, has joined the faculty of the Heritage School, a public high school designed by TC in collaboration with New York City public schools. The school balances traditional academics with interdisciplinary learning in which the arts are critical dimensions to all programs of study. Siegel formerly taught at Seward Park High School in New York City's Lower East Side. She has taught journalism at the college and high school levels, and directed a journalism program for ArtsConnection, which ran in six inner-city high schools in New York City.
