William Taylor, chair of the Citizen's Commission on Civil Rights, speaks in favor of No Child Left Behind (NCLB), the Bush Administration's education program, at a forum sponsored by the Department of Organization and Leadership on September 8. Taylor has been active in civil rights issues since 1954, when he became an attorney on the staff of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and he was a leader in the coalition of civil rights organizations that blocked the confirmation of Robert Bork to the Supreme Court in 1987. Amy Stuart-Wells, Jeff Henig and other TC faculty critiqued Taylor's advocacy of NCLB.
