In the midst of this country's "race to the top," it is clear that there is a need for superior, well-rounded learning institutions and well-trained educators and administrators, as well as well-informed policymakers. The research and education ongoing at Teachers College, Columbia University and the work of our alumni will continue to make an impact, both nation- and world-wide, upholding the long-standing legacy created by the founding thinkers and doers.
