Dennis Walcott to Deliver Kossoff Lecture at Academic Festival
Dennis M. Walcott, the newly appointed New York City Public Schools Chancellor, made his first major policy address in that role at Teachers College's third annual Academic Festival on Saturday, April 16th.

Walcott will delivered the Phyllis Kossoff Lecture on Education and Policy, in TC's Joyce Berger Cowin Conference Center Auditorium. His address was the opening event of Academic Festival, which this year was themed "Learn to Live Well: Bringing Education to the Table."
Walcott was appointed last week by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to lead the city's public schools. As Deputy Mayor for Education and Community Development since the beginning of the Bloomberg Administration in 2002, Walcott has been Mayor Bloomberg's point person in City Hall on schools.
