Internist Gerald I. Blank (M.A., 1951) attended medical school at Switzerland’s University of Bern and practiced in New Britain, CT.
David Carr (M.A., 1968) has published three books:  The Promise of Cultural Institutions (2003), A Place Not a Place (2006), and Open Conversations (2011). 
Edith Shih (M.E., 1978) received a newly redesigned Columbia University Alumni Medal from Michael Griffin, Executive Director for Alumni Relations, in Hong Kong in June. Columbia has created new medals for past recipients like Shih, first honored in 1993.

Timothy S. Sedore (Ed.D., 1996), Professor of English at Bronx Community College (CUNY), has published An Illustrated Guide to Virginia’s Confederate Monuments (Southern Illinois University Press).
