Gita Steiner-Khamsi
Gita Steiner-Khamsi, Professor of Education and Chair of TC's Department of International and Transcultural Studies, is Iranian by birth, Swiss by upbringing, and a U.S. citizen by naturalization. Steiner-Khamsi speaks and writes English, German, French and Persian. She has conducted extensive research on the education systems of countries in Europe, the former Soviet Union and Mongolia, and currently serves as Principal Investigator for a USAID-funded projected to assist Pakistan in creating an undergraduate 136-credit, four-year teaching degree and a two-year associate’s teaching degree. Steiner-Khamsi has edited several books, including Policy Borrowing and Lending. World Yearbook of Education 2012 (Routledge, 2012) and South-South Cooperation in Education and Development.
