Changes in edTPA requirements announced by the NYSED Board of Regents on April 29, 2014
A teacher candidate who is seeking initial certification on or after May 1, 2014 and prior to June 30, 2015, will be required to submit the edTPA.
Changes in edTPA requirements announced by the NYSED Board of Regents on April 29, 2014:
- A teacher candidate who is seeking initial certification on or after May 1, 2014 and prior to June 30, 2015, will be required to submit the edTPA.
- If a teacher candidate submits the edTPA and receives a failing score, he/she may take the Assessment of Teaching Skills-Written (ATS-W) exam. The teacher candidate must receive a passing score on the ATS-W prior to June 30, 2015 in order to be issued an Initial certificate.
Note: The ATS-W is not required for teacher candidates who achieve a passing score on the edTPA.
