Teaching Residency Program Recruits Sixth Cohort
The Teaching Residents at Teachers College program (TR@TC) prepares highly qualified teachers to teach in New York City public schools in an intensive, supportive masters degree program. Watch this video to learn what TR@TC alumni, principals of partnership schools, and Project Director A. Lin Goodwin have to say about the impact and accomplishments of the first five years of the program.
Now in its second funding cycle, TR@TC (now called TR@TC2) is currently recruiting its sixth cohort of Teaching Residents (TRs). TR@TC2 is seeking applicants who are eager to enter the teaching profession and are particularly dedicated to teaching in high-need NYC schools.
Admitted TRs receive a $30,000 stipend, a generous scholarship, and health insurance assistance. Supports throughout this 18-month program include a year-long residency in which TRs are paired with experienced mentor teachers. They receive opportunities to spend time in various NYC DOE schools, interactive support from residency supervisors, and ongoing induction support upon completion of the program.
