When Grandpa's a Legend: TC alumna Harriet Fields co-hosts marathon screening of films by W.C. Fields
In case you didn't know it, 2015 is the Year of W.C. Fields, celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the iconic American actor and comedian's career in film and on Broadway.
As part of the festivities, tomorrow evening (Friday September 4th) at 8 p.m., TCM cable TV will broadcast “W.C. Fields: 100 Years in Film,” co-hosted by Teachers College alumna Harriet Fields, who is W.C. Fields' granddaughter, and Ben Mankiewicz. The marathon evening will include four Fields films, with introductions and discussion by the co-hosts.
Visit the Official W.C. Fields Web site www.wcfields.com for future events and for photos and the videography of “W.C. Fields Centennial Celebration at the New Amsterdam,” which in June celebrated the anniversary of Fields' debute in the Ziegfeld Follies. You can also learn more at the W.C. Fields: 100 Years in Film website.
