Dear Colleagues:

I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Lisa Seales as Teachers College’s new Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer, effective August 30th.

Lisa, who recently served as Assistant Vice President, Talent Services, Columbia University Information Technology (CUIT), is an accomplished human resources professional whose career experiences and skills make her the ideal individual to assume this critically important role. In addition to being outgoing, Lisa is a person who cares passionately about employee engagement and career development. She brings a broad understanding of the entire human resources lifecycle, from talent recruitment, successful onboarding, and professional development, to the creation of working environments that encourage team-building, innovation and open communication. Lisa is especially committed to building a people-centric culture of diversity, innovation, and inclusion while creating a human resources operation focused on delivering first-class service at all levels.

Lisa is also an alumni of Teachers College, having graduated with an M.A. in our Social-Organizational Psychology program. She has spent nearly her entire career in human resource positions within Columbia University and is experienced in developing integrated communication strategies and engaging with people at all levels of the organization – a skill that is complemented by her deep understanding of the TC culture and sense of community. She will play a key leadership role in helping the TC community embrace new systems and necessary change as we prepare for the next generation of students.
