Dear Friends,
Over the next several days, many members of our TC community will be celebrating the Easter and Passover holidays, starting with the Passover Seders this evening, with Good Friday and Easter Sunday just ahead.
On one hand, these celebrations may feel bittersweet. We are unable to enjoy traditional gatherings with our extended families and friends. Some of us have lost loved ones, while others have fallen ill. And the challenges of balancing the education, health, and safety needs of all who are near and dear to us are quite real for you and me.
Yet, we have reasons to be grateful. We can be grateful for the way these difficult times have brought out the best in us. As TC’s President, I am especially grateful – and proud – to be part of a community whose members truly care for one another.
At the same time, spring and all of the holidays of spring bring us all hope. While none of us can predict the date when it will be safe to return to campus, I am looking forward to the day when we can all physically gather together again – as a teaching and learning community, and as one TC family.
In the meantime, I hope you can slow down a bit if you can. But by all means, please stay calm, healthy, and safe.
Chag Pesach sameach!
Happy Easter!
Thomas Bailey
President, Teachers College
Note: We will continue to offer the community regular updates – and you can always find the latest information on TC’s Preparedness website.
