Dear Members of the TC Community,
As we move to align with New York City’s revised masking mandates, we want to introduce TC’s “Mask Mindful” guidance beginning on April 1. In essence, this guidance means that masks will become optional on campus for faculty, staff and students who are vaccinated and boosted. However, we want to emphasize several key points:
- The decision to wear a mask belongs solely to the individual. Those who wish to continue masking may do so.
- Caring for one another’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing is a core TC community value. It is vital that you respect any individual who chooses to wear a mask without questioning their decision.
- Though masks will not be required, we still recommend individuals wear them in crowded settings for their own protection.
- TC reserves the right to reinstate a mandatory mask policy following any concerning changes to the state of the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City and/or guidance updates from federal, New York State or City governments.
- Please be assured that the College will continue to follow established health and safety measures, including maintaining air purifiers throughout campus.
Though masks will be optional, we will continue to uphold our other campus access requirements in order to monitor and control the spread of the virus on campus. These include:
- Requiring all community members to complete the Daily Health Screening each day they plan to access campus or to report any symptoms of COVID-19 or positive test results.
- Continuing with the Random Testing Program.
- Requiring all community members to upload proof of a COVID-19 booster by May 23.
Summer 2022 Event Policy
As of Tuesday, May 10, the following event restrictions will be removed:
- Capacity limits on event spaces
- External guest capacity of 50
- Masking requirement at events except for events over 200 guests. In this case, masks are required.
We are making these changes to help community members plan events with fewer restrictions, however, some requirements will remain in place. Please read the full policy to learn about continued requirements and find more information on catering guidance.
