In celebration of service and action, members of the TC community and friends of the College rallied together to raise more than $382,000 to support students, research and more — with special contributions made to the Student Emergency Fund and community members rallying to meet giving challenges.
But TC Impact Day isn’t just about fundraising. In line with TC’s commitment to public good, more than 160 volunteers participated in various Impact Day initiatives. A book drive generated 2,300 books for Harlem schools; read-aloud sessions engaged young learners; and volunteers cleaned up parks in Morningside Heights and across the country in San Francisco.
In addition to in-person volunteering, 65 Take Action letters were written over the course of Impact Day. These letters urge legislators to take a progressive stance on issues like LGBTQ+ rights, the Student Loan Literacy Act and the Assault Weapons Ban.
The success of Impact Day wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of the students, alumni, staff, and faculty of Teachers College. If you missed out on Impact Day but would still like to make a gift to TC, it’s not too late to donate.
