Dear Members of the TC Community:
Over the past few days, we have been following with horror and heartbreak news of the terrorist attacks by Hamas on Israel and the tragic loss of civilian life and escalating violence that has followed.
We mourn the lives lost, suffering and physical destruction taking place in Israel and Gaza, and our hearts go out to all those affected.
These global events have an impact on many students, faculty, staff, and other members of our TC community, and exact a heavy emotional toll. We urge you to seek support among your colleagues and peers, and to access the College’s resources if you need them.
- Students may contact Student Support & Advocacy (SSA) by completing this contact form or contact Columbia University's Counseling and Psychological Services for counseling and mental health support.
- Employees may access the counseling support through the Employee Assistance Program.
- All TC community members can contact Columbia University’s Office of Religious Life for religious and spiritual support.
We will continue to hope for the safety and healing of those affected by this war, and for a pathway to peace. And we will remain steadfast in our work and commitment to promote an inclusive campus and a more just and equitable world.
Warmly,
Thomas Bailey
