Welcome to the program in Arts Administration
The Arts Administration graduate program at Teachers College prepares students for careers in arts administration. Our curriculum guides students to 1) develop skills to succeed in their professions, 2) understand the systems of power that shape careers in the arts, and 3) leverage the strategic use of data to strengthen the field. Our intellectual profile emphasizes social and racial justice in the arts which is shaped by our faculty’s rigorous research agendas. We welcome a diverse community of learners from all over the world who believe in the positive impact of the arts. Whether you’re a recent college graduate or have experience as a professional, this comprehensive graduate program is ideal for you. You will join a cohort of students and move through this academically rigorous program together. Unlike other institutions that separate performing from the visual arts, you’ll benefit from the collaboration that occurs in this truly interdisciplinary program. You will have opportunities to take elective courses across the university, including access to the world-renowned Columbia Business School, School of the Arts, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and School of Professional Studies. You will also benefit from research opportunities; micro-courses on a variety of subjects; internships in your areas of interest; and networking with numerous arts professionals who come to TC to share their expertise.
