Practice Rooms

Music practice rooms (on the fifth floor of TC’s Horace Mann building) are available to rent each semester. 

Who can rent a room?

Practice rooms may be rented by: 

• Any student (from any Columbia school with an active ID) who is enrolled in TC Studio Music Lessons.
• Teachers College Music and Music Education students.

What does my rental include?

For a fee (fully refunded when your room key is returned), users may reserve up to five hours per week.

Most rooms are equipped with a Steinway 1098 upright piano. All rooms have armless chairs, a music stand, and an air filtration system. Rooms with a drum set or a harp are also available. 

When are practice rooms available?

Monday-Friday: 9am-9pm

Saturday: 9am-5pm

Practice rooms are unavailable on Sundays, holidays, and during school breaks.

When must I return my practice room key?  

A deadline is sent to renters every semester, as well as instructions on how to be issued a refund.
