Ying Wang

Voice

As a soprano and choir conductor, Ying Wang holds a degree in Classical Voice Performance from Manhattan School of Music and a Music Education degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. Ying has trained under renowned mentors such as Chris Nomura, Harolyn Blackwell, Jeanne Goffi-Fynn, and Randall Allsup, which has helped shape her expertise in both vocal performance and teaching methodology.

 

As an operatic singer, Ying has sung at D.C John F. Kennedy Center, Kauffman Center, Shanghai Opera House, Mezzano Auditorium Primiero and Greenfield Hall. She has performed in major works such as Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, and The Fairy Queen. Her career also includes a celebrated recital of German Lieder and participation in orchestral and choral performances with the Philharmonia/Symphonic Chorus under the baton of Kent Tritle.

 

Passionate about both teaching and performing, Ying is committed to fostering a love of music and ensuring her students develop strong technical skills. She aims to inspire them not only through her knowledge of music but also by creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Yizhou Wang

Clarinet

Yizhou Wang is a dedicated clarinetist and aspiring music educator with over 15 years of performance experience. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and a Master of Arts in Music Education. Specializing primarily in classical repertoire, he has also explored jazz and developed versatility in a range of styles.

During his undergraduate years, Mr. Wang performed with the university wind ensemble for four years, serving as first chair clarinetist for two. In addition, he was one of two clarinetists in the university orchestra, tackling a diverse repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary works. Beyond his collegiate ensembles, Mr. Wang worked with community ensembles and orchestras and made great contributions by leading daily rehearsals, offering individual instruction, and guiding the clarinet section in preparation for public performances.

Beyond performance, Mr. Wang has cultivated complementary skills in music theory, composition, conducting, and basic vocal techniques. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and fostering musical growth in others, making him well-prepared to guide students of all levels toward artistic excellence.

Michael Webb

Jazz Bass, Bass

Michael Webb is an electric and upright bassist, arranger, composer, and educator based in New York City. Since arriving in New York ten years ago, Michael has had the opportunity to study and perform with a wide variety of New York’s greatest musicians including Chris Potter, Alan Ferber, Tony Moreno, Mike Rodriguez, and Billy Drewes. Beyond the jazz world, Michael is equally comfortable in a wide variety of styles, including Rock, Pop, and Singer-Songwriter as well as being an adept pit musician. As such, he has been seen performing at an eclectic collection of venues throughout the city and beyond including The Knitting Factory, The Bowery Electric, New World Stages, and 54 Below, as well as performing at famous Jazz venues like The Blue Note. He has also been seen with groups internationally across Costa Rica as well as in the
Jazz Clubs of Paris. Michael is also NYS Certified PreK-12 Music Teacher and currently serves as the Band Director of the Alice E. Grady Elementary School in the Elmsford Union Free School District. As a bassist, Michael has had the privilege of studying privately with Martin Wind, Mike Richmond, Matyas Szandí, and Pete Toigo. He holds a B.M. in Jazz Studies and an M.A. in Music Education from New York University and is currently a student in the Ed.M program in Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Eve Wolf

Piano

Eve Wolf has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals in the United States and Europe.  She has taught piano and chamber music in New York for the past twenty-five years, has lectured at The Juilliard School and has recently joined the faculty of The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Ms. Wolf is the Executive Artistic Director of Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC), which she founded in 2001. ERC, now in its thirteenth season, produces theatrical concerts, which interweave dramatic and fully staged scripts with chamber and vocal music. Ms. Wolf writes scripts and performs extensively with the group. ERC has, to date, created over 40 original productions and has partnered with and performed at such institutions as Symphony Space, The Jewish Museum of New York; the Archivio Fano at the Teatro La Fenice of Venice, Italy; the Festival de Musique de Chambre Montral; the French Institute-Alliance Franaise/FIAF, New York; the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies at Columbia University; the Italian Cultural Institute of New York; and the City University of New York (CUNY), among others. In 2011 Seduction, Smoke and Music: The Love Story of Chopin and George Sand, a theatrical concert co-produced with IMG Artists was performed in Italy at The Tuscan Sun Festival, with Jeremy Irons as Chopin and Sinad Cusack as George Sand. In the summer of 2013 ERC performed, to great critical acclaim, in partnership with Shakespeare & Company, ten performances of Ms. Wolf's script None but the Lonely Heart: The Strange Story of Tchaikovsky and Madame von Meck. Ms. Wolf studied piano with Seymour Bernstein, Richard Goode, and Peter Serkin, and music theory with Carl Schachter and Robert Levin. She received a BA in Art History from Columbia University and an MA in Piano Performance from New York University. Her much-in-demand seminar, Confronting Memory, deals with memorization techniques for pianists and has been presented in the United States and abroad.

Tingxian Wu

Tingxian Wu is a singer-songwriter, producer, and educator with a passion for music innovation and storytelling. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Songwriting. Meanwhile, Tingxian is currently taking Master Degree in Music & Music Education in Teachers College.

In 2023, Tingxian founded FMπ, a music production and education studio in Changzhou, China. Through this initiative, they recruited over 20 students, hosted engaging workshops, and helped aspiring musicians produce their own demos. The studio has successfully released four albums on NetEase Cloud Music, garnering over 100,000 engagements and generating substantial revenue. Tingxian’s music style leans towards a fusion of jazz, musical theater, and pop, and he is also a devoted fan of R&B. His notable works include The Tempest Train (“暴风雨列车”) and SCUM (“熟练”).

As an independent artist, Tingxian has released 16 original songs, amassing more than 23,000 followers and 200,000 streams across platforms like NetEase and QQ Music. Their live performances with a Berklee band further showcase their dynamic vocal and creative talents.

Tingxian’s professional experience also includes roles in digital music marketing with HikoonMusic and product marketing with Music Motion. They contributed to successful campaigns involving AI-powered music applications and cutting-edge music technologies, surpassing KPI benchmarks and driving user engagement.

Beyond their musical achievements, Tingxian is an award-winning vocalist with accolades including multiple championships in provincial singing competitions and a semifinals appearance in The Voice of China. They are fluent in English and Chinese and have entry-level proficiency in Spanish and Japanese.

Colette Young

Voice

Colette Cecile Young, Soprano, native Hawai’ian, earned her bachelor’s degree in both Biology and Music from Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges, where she was often guest soprano soloist with the Bryn Mawr/Haverford Symphony Orchestra. Currently she is pursuing a Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies combining music and science education. She is also currently on faculty at Columbia Secondary School (CSS), where she teaches science, leads the middle school choir, Executive Function Program, and the cheerleading team. Colette is also the Columbia University Cheerleading team.

Colette has been guest soloist with the Apollo Orchestra, Landon Symphonette, soloist at the White House, and won the VSA International Performing Artist Competition sponsored by the Kennedy Center, where she made her acclaimed debut.  A spokesperson for Learning Ally (fka Recording for Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D), Colette won numerous 1st prizes in the National Association Teacher’s of Singing and Asian International Competitions. A classical, operatic, and musical theater vocalist, flutist, pianist, Polynesian dancer, Colette has performed throughout Hawai’i, continental US, and Italy. As artist representative for the VSA and the Kennedy Center, she performed at and lectured before the Maryland State Legislature, and the US. Department of Education on Music and Arts Education.

Weixin (Byron) Zhou

Weixin (Byron) Zhou

Piano

Praised by legendary pianist Russell Sherman for performing with “unflappable poise” and for “embracing the core of the music and the composer,” Byron Wei-Xin Zhou began his concert career after winning First Prize at the 2007 Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. He has since performed over 100 recitals across America, Asia, and Europe at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Jordan Hall, Shanghai Concert Hall, Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center, Victoria Hall, and Teatro alla Scala. His artistry was lauded by Earl Wild—“I am particularly enamored with the playing of Wei-Xin”—and by Maurice Hinson, who called his performance “simply a miracle.”

Zhou made his New York debut in 2008 on the Times Stage and has continued to make his mark globally. In 2021, he was handpicked by UNITAR and sponsored by six nations to perform at Carnegie Hall during the 76th UN General Assembly under the theme “Building Resilience through Hope.” He returned in 2022, 2023, and 2024 for UNGA concerts aligned with major global themes, and headlined UNITAR’s 60th anniversary concert in 2023. In 2024, he curated and led the Mid-Summer Concert at the UN with the UN Festival Orchestra for Hope and Venezuela’s National Children’s Symphony. In 2025, he was appointed Artistic Director of the UN Charter Day Concert, commemorating the UN’s 80th anniversary.

Zhou’s distinctions include performances at the Arthur Rubinstein Competition Festival, Shanghai World EXPO, and among many others. He has soloed with orchestras around globe, including Cameristi della Scala, United Nations Festival Orchestra for Hope, Kodály Philharmonic, Shanghai Philharmonic, Guayaquil Philharmonic Orchestra, and others.

Born in Shanghai, Byron studied at the Shanghai Conservatory’s Middle School before continuing at New England Conservatory of Music and Carnegie Mellon. Since 2022, he has Artistic Director at UNITAR-NYO, promoting cultural diplomacy through music.

ZiqinZhuang

Zhuang Ziqin

Piano

Ziqin Zhuang is a pianist and music educator graduated magna cum laude from Berklee College of Music in Performance major and Screen Scoring Minor. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Ziqin has taught students ages five to sixty across a variety of levels and backgrounds. Her teaching ranges from pop, jazz, and classical styles of music, with particular attention to nurturing creativity, foundational literacy, and personal expression. Whether introducing young beginners to musical notation and hand coordination, or guiding more advanced students through jazz harmony or modern repertoire, she tailors each lesson to the students’ needs and interests.

She incorporates student-centered strategies that prioritize motivation, exploration, and ownership of learning. Lessons often include lead sheet interpretation, improvisation, rhythmic understanding, music theory, and guided composition. Her students are encouraged to reinterpret songs they love, improvise short phrases, and even write their own music—developing not only technical skill but also musical confidence and identity.

Ziqin’s approach is grounded in her belief that every student can connect deeply with music when given the right tools and space to explore. She creates a supportive and flexible environment where learners feel seen, heard, and inspired to grow and discover their unique voice through music.
