Research Discipline/Bio

Edith is a 3rd year Ph.D. fellow in English Education. Her doctoral research proposes a posthuman theoretical framework to expand our understanding of mentorship and to recognize the profound influence of more-than-human entities and influences that shape educators' identities and development. She is National Board Certified, recipient of prestigious Fulbright and Pulitzer Center fellowships, and embodies 15 yrs of college and public high school teaching in Connecticut and Hawai’i. In addition to her academic pursuits, she is an adjunct professor, a student teacher supervisor, and deeply involved in graduate student leadership as AERA GSC Chair-Elect, AATC GSC Co-Founder and Executive Secretary, and ELATE GSC Co-Chair. Edith fosters supportive living environments as a residential Community Assistant and advocates for gender equity as TC’s Feminist Circle Co-Founder and Co-President. Outside of academia, when her nose is not in a book, Edith loves exploring NYC with her two daughters.
