B.A. Columbia University, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude. Double major in Art History and Visual Arts. Honors theses in both. (1993) Joan Sovern Prize, & the Louis Sudler Prize given to one student in Columbia College chosen from all the combined Arts departments for excellence in their field.
Scholarly Interests
Drawing—it's practice, use, and pedagogy; visual cognition—the psychology and neuroscience of visual processing as it relates to drawing; Visual Thinking Strategies, and research underlying developmental stages in visual cognition.
