Circulation Policy
The table below summarizes borrowing privileges and practices for categories of library users, with information on loans, fees, blocks, requests for materials in the closed stacks, and courtesy notices.
For current and affiliated members, library materials typically circulate for an entire semester. Restrictions apply for Everett Cafe books, which circulate for two weeks; print books on Reserve, which circulate for two hours; and some equipment, which circulates for six hours. Books from the closed stacks are subject to review for circulation, depending on their age and condition.
Auto or self-renewal of materials checked out to current members are in effect for a maximum total loan period of six months, including the renewals. Please note that more than ten overdue items on an account will incur a block, as will a lost item.
Books requested to be placed on Hold at the First Floor Services Desk remain on Hold for seven days until they are returned to the Stacks.
