GSLD is dedicated to enhancing the academic experiences of graduate students outside the classroom. We recognize the unique challenges faced by graduate students and work to ensure our students have access to a wide array of services aimed at supporting their academic success. From New Student Orientation and Doctoral Student Initatives to First Generation Support and Academic services such as graduate writing and statistics consultation, GSLD creates opportunities that speak to TC students in their identity as a graduate student.

New Student Orientation

NSO is an immersive program designed to familiarize new TC students with academic resources, support services, and community-building opportunities, ensuring a smooth transition into graduate life.

Research Competitions

The Minutes to Win It Student Research Competition challenges graduate students to present their research topic and its significance in 3-5 minutes or less. The Research Competition develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills, as well as supports the development of graduate students' capacity to succinctly communicate their research to a non-specialist audience.
