Gender Inclusive Housing

Teachers College provides multiple housing options for students to meet the diverse needs of our students. We provide safe and supportive housing for students of all sexes, gender identities and gender expressions, including transgender and gender non-conforming students. All of our housing options include single occupancy bedrooms.

A number of our spaces are designated as Gender Inclusive. This means that individuals can reside in these spaces regardless of their gender; therefore these units will not be assigned based on gender. This decision is designed to create a more inclusive environment for students of all gender identities. The 2nd - 5th floor singles in Whittier are gender inclusive, as well as 2 suites on the 10th floor.  Any unit with a private bathroom is also considered to be gender inclusive.
