TC Launches ACE Performance Management - Achieve, Contribute and Excel!
November 4, 2024
Dear Colleagues,Based on feedback from the employee survey earlier this year, we are excited to launch ACE Performance Management. The process is designed to help you Achieve your goals, Contribute to our mission and priorities and Excel in pursuit of your career aspirations at Teachers College. Please Note: You are receiving this message if you are the manager/supervisor of a full-time professional staff employee. System enhancements are underway, and all participants can access the tool on November 12, 2024.
What's New This Year?
Achieve, Contribute and Excel (ACE) is a collaborative process that facilitates three documented conversations throughout the year - goal setting (typically at the beginning of the new fiscal year or within 90 days for new hires), mid-year check-ins (January/March) and the final review (April/June).There is a balance between what (results) and how (behaviors) goals are achieved, along with a built-in expectation for ongoing feedback between employees and their managers.
Start with SMART(ER)
Performance management is a collaborative process between employees and their managers and begins with setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals that are aligned with the department, team, and College's priorities. Goals can be iterative and should reflect shifts in priorities that directly impact your role and contributions. At the time of mid-year reviews, evaluating and revising goals may be appropriate. To acknowledge changes in operational priorities, you will also see references to SMART(ER) goals to signal that goals should be "E"valuated and "R"evised as appropriate.Resources and training will be available for employees and managers to ensure success throughout the process.
