The Tisch Food Center supports local, state, and federal policies that strengthen food and nutrition education. We convene and participate in coalitions; conduct policy-related research; and advocate for food and nutrition education policy, programs, and funding.

    Tisch Food Center Endorses Bill Introduced by Chairman Scott to Provide Free School Meals to All Students During COVID-19 Pandemic

    Today, House Committee on Education and Labor Chairman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (VA-03) introduced legislation to make all students eligible for free school meals during the 2020-2021 school year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Pandemic Child Hunger Prevention Act would allow all children to access breakfast, lunch, and afterschool snack programs either in school or through “grab and go” and delivery options. The Pandemic Child Hunger Prevention Act is endorsed by the Tisch Food Center.
