Student Resources on Campus
Here you'll find a list of different resources on Teachers College and Columbia's campus for multimedia production and research. All of these resources are available to TC students to use for free or low cost. Please see specific organizations for details.
Resources are divided into 3 sections: (A) Studios/Makerspaces lists resources where you can rent equipment or use space/tools available to make media; (B) Labs include interest-based student and faculty groups that combine research and practice; (C) Self-Guided Resources tab is a compilation of online resources, training courses, and manuals that can assist your media production.

Studio 447
STUDIO 447 is a space for art pedagogy, imagination, and participation. As a Mixed Media Art studio space, the STUDIO 447 is designed and used to support a broad range of studio approaches in mixed media and multidisciplinary art and art education. In accordance with the principles, culture, and goals of the Art and Art Education Program students, faculty, visiting artists, and guest practitioners are welcome to use the space and its equipment in any way it will serve their practice, pedagogy, and community.
Due to its location and proximity to Macy Gallery, STUDIO 447 is a space that often allows connections and crossovers with current exhibitions, under the principles of museum and gallery education. Columbia students, School students, families, and Macy Gallery visitors from the broader community and neighborhood, may also participate in community engagement art-making sessions that correspond to contemporary shows at Macy Gallery.
Note: the use of studios is reserved for students who are registered for a TC studio course, Independent Studio Work, or a community program in the particular studio area. Please visit our FAQs for Current Students page to view our full art studio use policies.
Interest-based working groups of students and faculty who collaborate on hands-on projects and research.
Hosted online and/or in libraries around campus and beyond.
